On 9th September, Mr. KOBAYASHI Ryuichiro, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Sliema.
Sliema is one of Malta’s major business districts and also serves as a departure point for trips to Gozo and Comino. Its approximately three-kilometre-long promenade along the Mediterranean is popular with both local residents and tourists, while the many restaurants lining the seafront contribute to the area’s lively atmosphere.
The Embassy of Japan is also located in Sliema, and many Japanese nationals reside in the area. Against this background, Mr. Kobayashi and the Mayor exchanged views from a range of perspectives on ways to further strengthen the relationship between Japan and Sliema.
