On April 30, Mr. Ryuichiro Kobayashi, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, paid a courtesy call on The Honourable Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, Minister for European Funds and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme and the Chair of the Malta-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the longstanding friendship between Japan and Malta, including the historic visit to Malta in 1921 by then-Crown Prince Hirohito. They also discussed the parliamentary friendship associations established in both Malta and Japan following Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Malta in 2017.
