On 4 and 11 March, the Embassy of Japan in Malta held a Tsumami Zaiku Workshop and Lecture titled "Create Your Flower Brooch" at Campus Hub, targeting Maltese residents as well as foreign nationals living in Malta.

At the beginning of the event, embassy staff explained the history and cultural significance of Tsumami Zaiku, a traditional craft passed down since the Edo period. We introduced how Tsumami Zaiku has been cherished by Japanese people across generations as a traditional art form that decorates important life milestones such as Shichi-Go-San and Coming-of-Age ceremonies, deepening participants’ understanding.

During the workshop, participants created flower brooches using fabrics available in Malta, allowing even beginners to enjoy the craft easily. Attendees shared the joy of making things together in a warm and friendly atmosphere, fostering interaction beyond nationality and age.
