Event Information: Tsumami Zaiku Workshop: Create Your Flower Brooch

2026/2/4
The Embassy of Japan cordially invites you to the event “Tsumami Zaiku Workshop: Create Your Flower Brooch”.

Discover Tsumami Zaiku, a traditional Japanese craft made by folding small pieces of fabric into delicate shapes.

Dating back to the Edo period over 200 years ago, Tsumami Zaiku was traditionally worn by Geisha as Kanzashi hair ornaments.

This beginner-friendly workshop is open to everyone — no experience needed.

In this session, you will create your own flower-shaped brooch, perfect to wear or take home as a souvenir. Once you learn the technique with us, you can create your own pieces using your favorite fabrics or repurposing old clothes!

Join us and enjoy a relaxing hands-on experience inspired by the beauty of traditional Japanese culture.

Time: 5:30 – 7:00 pm
