2025/11/20
On Tuesday, November 18, the Embassy of Japan in Malta, in co-sponsorship with the “Support Group for the Film Inori (Prayer),” held a screening of the film “Inori” at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta.
This screening provided an opportunity to convey the suffering of the survivors in the aftermath of the Nagasaki atomic bombing, as well as the culture and history of the Hidden Christians, including the Urakami Cathedral, in this milestone year marking the 80th anniversary of the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Malta.
In the introductory lecture by Director Matsumura and Producer Jonouchi, they explained the background and context of the film’s production, to which the audience listened with deep interest.
