1. About Us:

The Embassy of Japan in Malta is currently seeking a reliable and skilled individual to fill the position of Driver and Handyman. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Embassy.

2. Responsibilities:

Driving and Vehicle Maintenance:

Safely operate the Embassy vehicle for official duties.
Ensure regular maintenance and cleanliness of the Embassy vehicle.
Remain on standby during working hours to be available for driving duties at any time.

Maintenance of Embassy Offices:

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the optimal functioning of Embassy facilities.
Address minor repairs and coordinate with external services when necessary.

Support and Assistance:

Assist in Protocol work, including transportation arrangements.
Provide support for political affairs, economic affairs, public relations & cultural affairs, administration, and consular affairs activities as needed. This may include administrative tasks such as desk work, basic customer service, and other non-driving responsibilities as needed.

3. Eligibility:

The ideal candidate must:

Be a Maltese national or Third Country national with an appropriate work permit in the relevant field.
Has minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience for work in Malta.

4．Skills and Competencies:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Basic handyman knowledge and skills for general maintenance tasks.
Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Flexibility and a proactive attitude toward handling a wide range of tasks beyond driving duties.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
